Initial Response
That was really, really cute. *sighs happily*
High Lights
- I love me some snarky, sarcastic characters, so Kate was really fun to read. I found I related to her quite often. If she was a real person, I would LOVE to be her friend. (Which is funny, because Kate's friend in the book is named Maddy. XD)
- All the police interaction and such was really cool to see. It was much more laid-back and normal than I thought it would be. Kate and the policemen were really like friends.
- All the references. I just loved them. It feels like a little inside joke when authors put those in there and I love it.
- I really love this writing style! It flowed so well and I had a little movie playing in my mind the entire time.
Low Lights
- The book as a whole was a little slow for a mystery/crime book, but I don't really read a whole lot of crime books, so I guess I don't really know pacing.
- Some relationships I felt were left a bit open-ended. DJ WHY?!?!? .
- The Christian element of this book really only came into play during the last half of the book. Which wasn't a bad thing at all, but I guess I was just expecting more.
Conclusion
All in all, this was a fun, quick read. The characters were memorable, the story was realistic, and I loved it all so very much.
