Okay! This was a LOT of story and somehow left me feeling like we’ve only scratched the surface. I think there were very poignant themes about empire and corruption and what kind of rebellion it breeds.
The end was losing me a bit. So much was happening and was overwhelming. The very end, had me scratching my head a bit, but also primed me for book 2.
And even though I knew that it was likely Callidus wasn’t making it out alive, I was still sad. Also, Relucia??? What’s her deal? lol her people are wilding.
Anyway, I enjoyed the story and enjoyed the buddy read.
