One for My Enemy by Olivie Blake
5.0
•A Romeo & Juliet retelling (ish) but make it modern with witches in New York? Yes please, sign me up!
•this is my first Olivie Blake book and it will not be my last - I’m OBSESSED with her writing. It’s beautiful and has so much emotion. I messaged some of my book pals about 30% in to the book about how much I was loving it and how a book hadn’t given me this feeling since reading Addie LaRue.
•THE ROMANCE! I was swooning over the 2 main relationships. Lev & Sasha are my new Roman Empire. The love & tragedy was so perfectly balanced that as a reader you felt all of the feelings along side the characters.
•the women in this book were so fucking powerful, they existed and stood entirely on their own, they were villainous and ruthless and I was in awe of them.
•the writing is without a doubt pretentious but I ate it up, give me big words, make me google. I love it.
