I was heartbroken, hopeless and sad but now that I finished it, I'm all okay again. Seriously, it's such a sweet and lovely end - not only to the book itself, but also to the series in general and I'm so happy everything turned out the way it is now. Once again Marie Lu managed to create an awesome storyline and finally gave us all the answers we were waiting for so desperately.
The title "Champion" is refered to Day and everything he did throughout the book/series but honestly, the real champion (for me) is definitely June. She's so brave and sacrificed a lot for ... everyone. I really grew to love her and have to say that she's one of the most amazing characters I've ever read about! She's compassionate, honest and while she was "coldhearted" in the first book, she's now a caring person with emotions she's not afraid to show. She did things that hurt her but that had to be done in order to safe a lot of people and I admire her for that. Not everyone would be as strong as she was.
Day really annoyed me in the second book but he got better and I was feeling with him. A lot. What he had to go through was terrible but at the same time he never gave up, he kept fighting and that, despite his obvious weaknesses now, showed his real strength. I really liked that he was always honest when it came to June and how he felt about her ... it was heartbreaking, yes, but I wouldn't want to have it any other way. It seemed so realistic and true and in the end it was perfect.
Overall, I feel like I'll remember the Legend series for a while ... it's a really good and brilliant world that the author created. Amazing characters that are so realistic and fascinating that you can't stop reading. You just have to know what happens to them! And that's exactly why I liked Marie Lu's ending of Champion ... it leaves everything open. There's no real and definite conclusion, she's giving us the chance to create our own ending, no matter how it is and I'm forever thankful for that!
