Hideaway by Penelope Douglas

3.0

The second book in the dark romance devils night series. After talking with a friend I was convinced to keep giving this series a try! Im glad I did as I did fine this book a bit better than the first.
Kai is looking to lure out Damon, a friend who betrayed him and their group. Kai is going to buy The Pope, a hotel that is sitting empty owned by Damons family and it has a rumoured secret floor. They believe this is where he is hiding out, watching and waiting to pick the right moment to torment them.
Banks is Damons sister but Kai doesn’t know this. She is working for her father to also try to find Damon so he doesn’t get himself into trouble.
Kai wants Banks for himself. He believes she is the key to bring Damon out of hiding. The only girl Damon could ever show care for.
As Kai works through his plan and Banks is working with him (although a bit reluctantly), he find himself still attracted to Banks.
Kai wants his life back, he doesn’t want to be constantly looking over his shoulder waiting for Damon to make his move. But he also is now realizing he wants to share that life, with Banks.
Banks never had a great upbringing and shes slowly starting to trust Kai and stop pushing her feelings for him down.
This read definitely had some spice to it, and was a bit better than the first book in the series. Its very dramatic, but what would a dark romance be without some drama? I think ill continue with the series and see how it goes!
