Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa

4.0

Starting the book with major unfortunate event of Takako who had a broken-hearted (choose to sleep as a coping mechanism), depressed because unemployed, and starting a whole new routine in her uncle second-hand bookstore. She wasn’t a fan of reading and she almost spent her whole day to sleep, so she won’t think about awful thing (which is understandable). But as the time goes by, she tried to read a book, she started to enjoy every parts of it until she felt like she was living with it.

And in another story, it talked about Momosaki. Takako’s auntie who already left for five years but she came back again. It was a rollercoaster emotions for his uncle but this book—the Morisaki bookshop always has the magical way to keep them. To reunite them again.

I feel like this book hugs me warmly and tightly. It’s really enjoyable to read and some words are so beautiful. This book also reminds us to always read a book. Never stop reading.

“I don’t think it really matters whether you know a lot about books or not. That said, I don’t know that much myself. But I think what matters far more with a book is how it affects you.”
