The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place by E.L. Konigsburg
2.0
Sadly this book suffered from a rather poorly wrapped up ending. The characters were developing nicely and then at the last third of the book it was like the author (and the main character) just threw their hands in the air and said "eh". Which is, after the end, how I felt as the reader as well. Characters who started strong, just languished and stagnated. The last section could have easily been a shorter Epilogue sort of thing rather than a bit over-long section which jumps from Margaret as aged 12 to Margaret aged 22 and beyond. Disappointing really because it started off with such a nice pace and some interesting ideas and characters...only to fall flat by the end. A shame.
