Kristin Hannah writes the most beautiful, poignant and well researched historical fiction. That tugs on your emotions at every corner and makes you feel so deeply. There were so many moments in this book where I sobbed and was heartbroken, feeling every inch of the pain Frankie was going through. The story is as fascinating and captivating after Frankie’s war has ended, as it is during. Highlighting the isolation and trauma felt by particularly the women veterans of a war that America had become ashamed of. There is so much more I could write about this book. Just read it. It’s stunning.
