Starling House by Alix E. Harrow

This book just kinda showed up, I don’t know if I put a hold on it because of the cover or what, but I didn’t expect anything going in (as I knew nothing about it). And I got so much out of it. Characters working through their trauma, a small town where there’s people that have cared all along, sinister coal producers that get their comeuppance, and my favorite character - a magic house that just wants to be cared for. I really loved this book.
My only note is that if I read it again, I’ll make sure it’s in the fall. This book just has those cozy witchy sweater weather vibes.

Oh! I almost forgot. While this may not be a romance, which is for the best because I don’t generally go for those, it had a few scenes that *really* trigger the memory of the want, the NEED, you feel when you meet someone new and feel sparks. Very well done.
