Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Woah, I loved this book so much!! I read it in one sitting only stopping for food so that shows how absorbed I was. The plot pace was spot on with each event/ important plot point flowing nicely from one to the other. I also found Mass' writing style really enjoyable a she was able to world build and characterise in a way that was effective and not time consuming. By this I mean that some authors spend too much time explaining the magic and characters in the world and it detracts away from the actual plot and action. However, Maas has the perfect balance.

I also think the Celaena is probably one of my favourite female protagonists ever. She's sassy, powerful, strong willed, and has compassion for those people who are special to her. We see her battle with having to stay inferior to men in order to stay safe and watch her as she forms priceless friendships.

The romance in this book was also spot on. At one point I was worried that it was going to become another love triangle but it doesn't and I appreciate that.

Overall, I absolutely adored this book and need the rest of the series now!
