Old Scores by A.J. Harrison
5.0
Set in modern Chicago this is a stunningly descriptive paranormal urban fantasy that makes you feel like you are watching events unfold with the level of detail and descriptive action sequences.
With elements of horror, action, and slow burn romance, this story is a creative ride into the world of vampires living amongst us.
It's dark, gripping and mysterious, and the characters are intense and intriguing. With a satisfying finale this could be a standalone read, but it also leaves it open for future works in the epilogues and hints at battles to come.
I would thoroughly recommend Old Scores, especially if you enjoy TV/films like The Mummy, Underworld, Van Helsing, Lost Boys, Shadowhunters - it has that dark eery vibe with lots of suspense, action and dire stakes.
