Death of Kings by Bernard Cornwell
2.0
Although I'm really enjoying this series, this chapter fell a little flat for me.
There was indeed advancement of the overall plot - but not enough. There were cool battles and shield walls and gory sword thrusts - but not enough.
Overall, it felt a bit like "length padding" - this series could have been 1 book less and the important bits of "Death of Kings" could have been rolled into other books. A bit of a cash grab?
If I'd been reading these books as they came out and had to wait a year or two in between, I would have been very disappointed with this one.
