This was a really well written book. I love Smith’s prose! However, I felt that overall the narrative was poorly organized. A lot of research was obviously done for this novel but it became weighed down but historical facts, names, and descriptions. The first 2/3 were engaging but by the end I was losing steam and ready to finish. I liked the inclusion of Boggle’s storyline but wished it had been introduced in a smoother fashion. The different storylines sometimes got muddled (maybe just for me?). Regardless, still an enjoyable read but overall I was a bit disappointed.
