After He Killed Me by Natalie Barelli

3.0

Two and a half stars rounding up.
It was OK and easy to read so I added half a star.
(Honest thought? I genuinely wonder why the ratings are SO, SO HIGH, but whatever.)

I do have a problem with the characters.
Not every single of them is likable. I understand very well that unreliable or suspicious narrator is a trend right now, but when you don't have anyone to root for, you won't care much about the story. The protagonist, Emma Fern, is a self-obsessed woman and she's married to an equally awful husband named Jim, who has a lover with zero self-respect called Carol.

If you ask me, they all deserve each other.
