The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
4.0
When it was announced that The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes would be Snow's story a lot of people, myself included, were really disappointed. Even so this was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and I have to say, it did not disappoint. Snow's backstory was fascinating if not a little confusing - I actually kind of liked him.
Until I didn't.
His character arc was a dramatic one, but I guess it had to be to create the monster we all know and loathe. I loved learning more about the history of the Capitol and the games, and all the little "Easter eggs" and familiar faces throughout the book.
This was a great addition to the franchise. Do you think we can expect more Panem books in the future? I know a lot of people would love Haymitch's story but I think a District 13 book would be pretty awesome too!
