This was my second reading of the book. First read many years ago and remembered enjoying it. Was recently coming to mind, so tried to find and glad that I did. Every enjoyable "hard science fiction". No faster than light travel, though they do have faster than light comms through quantum entanglement. A very interesting world/galaxy, especially with the conflict between "undead" Risen empire and cybernetic Rix. Great battles and fights.
