Under the Oak Tree: Volume 1 holds a special place in my heart with its unique and captivating storytelling. Despite the spicy content, the innocent and pure portrayal of the love story between Lady Maxi and Sir Riftan is beautifully done, making the romantic moments heartfelt rather than graphic. From start to finish, I couldn’t put the book down—the romance, character backgrounds, and their development drew me in deeper with each page.
This novel has become my ultimate guilty pleasure and is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Discovering that the webtoon had a light novel was a wonderful surprise, as these adaptations often add depth and detail that webtoons alone sometimes miss. The slow character development, especially Maxi’s journey into her role as Riftan’s wife and lady of the fortress, is a highlight. Her growth is subtle yet impactful, and I’m eagerly anticipating more in the next volume. I’ve already pre-ordered Volume 2 and can’t wait to see how their story continues!
