When It's Real by Erin Watt

The good ones put your character to the flame and burn away all the rest of the shit until you come out a better you. She’s one of the good ones.

I thought I would really this book, but after a while I found myself thinking how this book is extremely predictable. Love the concept and everything but WOW everything was so fucking predictable. It was definitely angsty and at times heartwarming and it definitely showed how being a celebrity can be hard and tiring through the perspectives of Oakley Ford. I liked Vaughn, a normal teenage girl who has to deal with signing a contract to be the fake girlfriend of Oakley Ford, but I didn’t connect with her at all. Although, I really do love Paisley, Ty and twins.

The last part I could kind of see coming,
SpoilerI knew that Oakley wouldn’t have broken up with her through a message but his publicist Claudia and Jim were behind it. I had a feeling that it was Claudia though
. Yes, it was a fun and an amusing read with so much drama going on from left, right and centre. Overall, I don’t know, maybe I’m not a huge fan of contemporary novels or maybe this book was really hyped up and I thought I’d like it, but it wasn’t really for me.
