I was expecting this to have a little plot, to be a sweet children’s story. It turned out to be a collection of reflections on friendship and kindness toward oneself and others. Some felt very much like tweets or IG captions, which I found disappointing, but there were some precious nuggets of wisdom buried within.
It mainly made me feel glad that I have people around me who tell me, through actions but also words, the things in this book. That I’m loved and important and that I don’t need to be perfect. And that any time is good for cake 🫶🏼🍰
