Real Men Knit by Kwana Jackson
1.0
I really wanted to like this. As a knitter myself it sounded like a cute story. But a 9 hour romance audiobook and there’s no substantial romance until roughly 7.5 hours in? It’s not even a slow burn, it’s just boring random events having to do with the MC’s job or the yarn store, or other random events. The whole premise of the book sounded relatively high stakes - save this yarn store from closing, but that was hardly even the focus of the book. Now that I think of it, it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly the book *was* about.
The supposed love interests have absolutely no chemistry, and there’s a lot of telling with no showing. I’m supposed to believe these two have been pining for each other since they were teenagers? It’s just not there. It wasn’t what I wanted it to be.
