This was such an intense book, but I'm all here for it.
It's pretty dark, similar plot to Room so go into it having read the trigger warnings. I was honestly expecting something like Room but I liked this one way better.
Thanks to the multiple POVs and jumping timelines the story is much more interesting and I got really attached to the characters and seeing how Maggie's disappearance impacted everyone around her. The man who kidnapped her made me sick to the core so yeah, good job writing him, I guess? It's really hard to rate these kinds of books sometimes?
Anyway, I think the story was well told and I was really rooting for Maggie.
But my main complaint it that you lure me in with seven days and then because of the jumping timelines and multiple POVs the seven days are so stretched and don't even matter? I feel like I would have felt less duped and still have enjoyed the book without that clickbait-ish blurb of seven days.
But other than that, this book definitely had me on the edge of my seat!
