Why Didn't They Teach Me This in School?: 99 Personal Money Management Principles to Live By by Cary Siegel

3.0

As the title suggests, these are money management tips for people who wish they'd been taught in school. There are lots of helpful suggestions in here that are common sense and worth repeating for readers who need a nudge in the right direction. The portion about credit cards, while phrased in absolute terms, has cautious reasoning behind it. Nonetheless, I disagree with it and would urge young college students to get a credit card with a decent cash-back option and use it as if it were a debit card (only spend what you can afford, always pay it off in full every month). Establishing good credit early will help with financing a car/apartment/house down the line.

As for the first tips about marriage and children - if they don't apply to you, then skip them. He's not wrong, though.
