This was a little too derivative of The Hunger Games for me, but that didn’t stop me from having a good time! I love reading fiction inspired by Latin American mythology. The characters were fabulous, and I would love to be friends with them. There’s clearly a sequel in the works, and I’ll be interested to see where that goes. I hope it diverges from the whole “teenagers fighting each other in a public tournament that may or may not end in death” thing. This is my second read by Thomas, and I want to read more!
