The Last of the Stanfields by Marc Levy
5.0
It’s not often than an Amazon First book intrigues me so much that I stop reading everything else, and get started immediately. That was the case with The Last of the Stanfields by Marc Levy.
Eleanor-Rigby (awesome right?) receives an anonymous letter directing her to visit Baltimore to learn about her mother’s secret past. When her father won’t answer her questions, Eleanor-Rigby books a flight from London and ends up learning much more than she anticipated.
She meets George-Harrison (yes, The Beatles again), and they learn that while they’re strangers, they’re much more connected than they think. Together they learn about the way they’re connected, and the dark secrets that no one would talk about.
The story, and back stories from the past are original and intriguing. They layer in intrigue while answering questions for the reader, and the characters along the way. Overall I really enjoyed the book and will be looking for more Marc Levy books to enjoy.
