Camping Noire: The Black Girls Guide To Surviving A Weekend Unplugged by Tasheea Nicholson
5.0
If you've never gone camping before, I highly recommend purchasing a hard copy of this book and reading it before you even think about planning your trip. There is great advice on how to shop for the trip so you don't blow your budget, things to consider when choosing your campsite, safety advice, fire starting tips, clothing and footwear tips, dealing with menstrual issues, natural hair care issues and more!
There are even recipes for breakfasts, lunches and dinners -- some of which I will be testing out today in my backyard firepit!
As a recently retired girl scout troop leader who went on too many camping trips to count, I still found this book refreshing! I am a farmer and love all things outdoors, so reading this for me was like sitting around the campfire with a kindred spirit talking about the joys and restorative powers of the great outdoors.
A delightful, quick, informative book that I read in one sitting!
