My Time of Blood in the Snow by Amanda Parsons
3.0
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!
The summery of this book really grabbed my attention and I was super excited to it!
There were parts of it that I absolutely adored - the beautiful way it’s written, the attention to detail and the gorgeous characters. Alexander was a great mc. I enjoyed his emotional journey and the way he slowly realised how he felt about Bill. I also loved Bill a lot, he was such a cheeky and fun love interest.
Personally I feel like I’d have enjoyed it more if the political stuff had been more of a background to the romance rather than the other way around. I think my tiny brain struggles with politics in any form.
The pacing also wasn’t really my cup of tea. I’m all for a slow burn but I felt like there was little payoff on this one. The confession is overshadowed by a plot twist and the epilogue isn’t even focused primarily on the couple either.
Overall I did enjoy it and I will definitely look up more of the author’s work.
