This one was creepy, like the movie Get Out, but not as effective for me. Rather than a thriller, it's more horror, with most of the horror at the end of the book. There's a lot of interesting historical information about Brooklyn and commentary about gentrification and racism. But most of the characters are so nasty, they are more like caricatures. And, it's a stressful read, as the situation for the neighbors keeps getting worse and worse.
