Wow. This book is a wild ride. A little slow in the beginning, but when it all comes together, you start to see why Tsamaase invested so much time in establishing the horrific particulars of the world she created. Womb City is inventive, fast-paced, and more than a little horrifying — once the reader dives in, Tsamaase doesn’t let you up for air again until the book is finished.

I really liked that Tsamaase wrote basically everyone in this book as a complicated person corrupted by the system they’re living in to various degrees. The exploration of nature vs. nurture throughout this book was deeply compelling, and the end result was both terrifying and satisfying in equal measure.
