I honestly don't know how I feel about this short story. I feel like I should like it more than I did.
On one hand, I feel for our dreamer who is struggling to bring himself to make real connections. But on the other hand the dreamer gets lost in his many contemplations in annoying ways, bringing us along with him. On one hand I feel for Nastenka and her situation. On the other she is very flaky and selfish. The end is inevitable, yet feels unsatisfactory.
I have many conflicting feelings. I could be persuaded to increase the rating or decrease it - but for now it's 3 stars.
