This book wasn’t as relatable for me as it seems to have been for other folks and that’s fine. I loved the etymologies! I totally took some pictures of some entries in this dictionary and sent them to share with other people. The way this dictionary seems to be inherently connective is fascinating, and echoes the author’s purpose for it. That said, I could not relate to the author’s projection of how time works and [most of] the fundamentals of shared human existence. Maybe some of them, but not all. A dictionary of sorrows is kind of a downer by default, but I often found myself asking myself, ‘do people really see themselves/each other/the world/time that way?’
