On the Way to You: Special Edition by Kandi Steiner
3.0
I’m very stuck on how I want to rate this. Parts I enjoyed, parts I did not. I definitely didn’t expect how heavy this book ended up being. The fmc has a prosthetic leg and the mmc has depression and is suicidal. Two strangers end up going on a road trip together and through that experience fall in love.
It’s all told from her point of view however the way the reader gets pieces of his mind is through the fmc secretly reading his private journal. This doesn’t sit right with me. I know the goal of it was to give some of the mmc point of view without actually giving it, but it just felt like a breach of privacy with how personal the journal was. I don’t love how things wrapped up either. I’d rather not spoil it but it felt too quick and sudden.
