Everything you want from a high fantasy in one diverse, well written, epic, stand-alone.
This is one of the best stand-alone high fantasies I have ever read. It has magic, dragons, diversity, multiple kindgoms, battles, intrigue & mystery, politics, and love.
It is definitely quite long, coming in at just over 800 pages. It takes about 1/3 of the book to biuld up to the true action, and finish some of the world building. In that time you are still definitely getting your times worth! It is so good.
This is a book you'll want to buy, not borrow.
