This book is horrifying, absolutely terrifying! It shows how easily the human mind can be brainwashed and manipulated, How important it is to actually pay attention to what is going on around you, and how important it is to fight for what you think is right even when it is much easier to just "go with the flow". I think this is a very important book that everyone should read.
That being said, there were parts of this book that really bothered me. The main thing was that the dystopian country this book takes place in has many comparisons to China, only very much so exaggerated. Exaggerated to the point where it felt a little like anti-communism propaganda. Of course, I think communism is far from perfect, but this book shows the worst case scenario of that situation, and made me feel a little uncomfortable while reading it.
