The Book That Broke the World by Mark Lawrence
5.0
"Over-dependence on epigraphs reveals not only the pretensions of the text but a fundamental character flaw in the author. The only writing crime worse than this is when the epigraphs don't come to"
I like to think that Mark Lawrence and Josiah Bancroft have a regular meeting where they discuss the best epigraphs each can come up with, and workshop ones until it's perfect. Obviously I don't need to say much more, Mark Lawrence can do no wrong.
