I could go on about this novel forever.
This has immediately cemented a place in my top 10 books of all time. It is such an interesting depiction of the prison industrial system, and although it’s satirical and hyperbolic, it’s scary just how many traits are shared between the story and real life.
The author does an outstanding job of portraying these dark, violent, and straight up unlikeable, characters in a way to garner the readers sympathy. The journey these characters take is truly like no other. Including perspectives other than the prisoners was a great touch and added a lot of depth. We get to see people in favour of, and against, the CAPE program and witness the loss of morality for some entertainment.
I also want to say that the audiobook is definitely worth it. The full cast did a great job at bringing the characters to life!
