Probably the most entertaining Italian classic I've read, and one of the most fun books I've read for school. All the characters as well as the events in the plot are so peculiar and sometimes so funny that they're impossible to forget. Mattia is such a good morally grey character, one minute you're empathising with him and the next you find him despicable, but he's so witty and funny that you can't help but love him nonetheless.
Graphic: Death and Pregnancy
Moderate: Suicide, Toxic relationship, and Violence
Minor: Alcoholism and Death of parent
