For She is Wrath by Emily Varga

slow-paced

3.0

The premise of this book sounded so good and I really liked the writing and how the author was setting up the plot then it just fell flat very quickly, it became very repetitive with the same conversations over multiple chapters and the pacing was just all over the place especially when throughout you would have flashback chapters from before Dani was betrayed and what happened to make her so mad, I feel like these chapters would of made more sense as a prologue as it just kept pulling me out of the story even more so having them placed randomly throughout the book.

I really wanted Dani to have so much more rage and anger, she was a fighter who had been betrayed by the boy she loved but as soon as she came back in contact with Mazin it felt like everything had been forgotten.

Unfortunately it just didn't live up to what I was expecting and felt more like a cosy fantasy than a revenge story with political intrigue with cutthroat decisions for the type of story it was, the ending felt very rushed and too easy and clean.
