I have started going in blind into Freya Barker's romances - they are wonderfully emotional; and make for an amazing read on lazy afternoons when all you want to do is just get lost within the pages of amazingly written books!

In Absolving Blue; we find ourselves enamored with the lone female EMT in a group dominated by men -
she knows that her position is precarious at best; and it doesn't mean that she gets to show any sort of weakness! The fact that the detective who can't seem to understand that she is NOT interested in anything romantic; and the fact that her own response to his presence is quite irritating as well.

Detective Tony Ramirez, on the other hand,  has been intrigued with the EMT lady so aptly named Blue for a while now; even though she seems to have become a professional at giving him the cold shoulder. But he is nothing if not persistent; and that charming personality of his won't fail him for long.

When Tony is handed over a case where the only link seems to be Blue; it doesn't take long for either of them to develop a little more than a professional relationship between them. And when Blue's past comes knocking on her present; all bets are off for Tony!

The mystery in the plot takes the front seat in the book - and the romance between Tony and Blue is developed as a background - which was the perfect choice for both Tony and Blue; for they definitely seemed like the kind of individuals who were more comfortable with the understated quality of their life - both quite perfect for each other; a fact tat seemed obvious too the reader; even if it wasn't to them! ;)
