Kerry, I just want to hug you for writing this absolutely precious book. I didn't think anything could come close to my love for Waiting for Tom Hanks, but this is now at the exact same level. It's like a giant mug of warm mocha mixed with love. I just adored every second of the story!
First of all, we have a really precious friends-to-lovers trope that manifested in a really natural (albeit hilarious) fashion. It was really interesting watching as the main character worked through what was truly a debilitating codependency struggle in her toxic relationship and how that transferred over to her daily life. Seeing her find joy again in the little things like "Teddy Time" was so special!
I also loved the fact that all the characters were so supportive in their own ways. From the store owner to the best friends and the romantic relationship as well. And of course, it was so much fun seeing some faves from Not Like the Movies! I didn't realize this book took place in the same world so it just made me so happy!
Overall, I couldn't stop smiling throughout the story. I listened to the audiobook in a little over a day and it felt like I was just sitting with a bunch of friends. I can't wait to read it again soon. It'll definitely be a comfort book!
