I just barely made it past all the Irish slang in this book bro.
Basically girlie (and no, I can’t tell you her name because I couldn’t even pronounce it) lives in a drug house with her dad and is constantly SA’d by his “friends”. Desperate to belong, she joins her friends on a heist and ends up being the only one to get caught, as they leave her behind. As a part of her probation, she has to work at Conor’s almost-bankrupt tattoo parlor. Conor’s a piece of work and doesn’t want to do this but it comes with a government grant. Basically, Conor tells us the whole book how he’s trash and doesn’t deserve the girl and there’s literally no reason why he’s saying this. Like he thinks there is but he needs to grow up. Luckily, girlie tells him the same and leaves him. Then he grovels for her to come back. Happily ever after. There was one scene that broke my heart a bit where just as soon as girlie finally bought Conor’s trust, her lil friends broke into the tattoo shop and robbed it and framed her and I was heartbroken but Conor knew it wasn’t her immediately - like didn’t even consider it despite her past - and found her busking her artwork in the street trying to make back the money. :(
