The Twist of a Knife by Anthony Horowitz
3.0
Generally I like Horowitz's books. I like his writing style and they are generally what I'd call a "fun" read.
I wasn't so keen on this one. In any murder mystery, the "bad guy (or woman)" is bad. They have defects/faults that caused them to murder. But in many respects, they were OK people. And we may have some empathy with the person murdered. What I didn't like about this one is that the person who was murdered was such a vile, loathsome person, anyone reading this would be delighted that they were killed and sorry that it didn't happen earlier in their life. I don't happen to like the feeling of revulsion at everything this baddie says and does. They were just pure evil.
It won't stop me from reading another Horowitz book, but I'll be quicker next time to put the book down if I get the same feeling.
