it was a fun challenge to read all of lovecraft! i'm never going to recommend it. reading all of it, that is. the racism is not worth it, and really, these stories, except for the dream cycle, are all variations of the same thing (a scientist, usually familiar with the occult but not actually practising it, is presented with an odd experience, investigates it, is horrified beyond description). read a novella or two instead, it's quite enough.
