True Evil by Greg Iles

I read this on a patron's recommendation. Not my style. The story was choppy, with too many references to other books (or maybe just weirdly disjointed sentences/paragraphs suck in to explain a weird turn in the narrative). The characters were stereotypical: evil, rich and calculating, beautiful but dumb, etc. I finished it because the plot, although full of holes, did have a couple twists and I was interested in the resolution.

I would recommend this book to someone who has read every James Patterson and doesn't like authors like Tana French.
