POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I liked this much more than the first book. Things seemed to level out a bit more. I thought the few quirks in Mallum's character odd though. At times he came across as...playful. I could not for the life of me understand the instalove in the first book and that is what bothered me the majority of the read. Knowing about the bonds and how they snap made it a bit more clear verses "he wants to kill her but loves her" and there was no explanation. It just didn't flow.

I did find a few plot holes. Specifically when Mallum comes on Caly's chest in her "dream" and when he takes her on the throne. With everyone's heightened fae sense of smell you're telling me no one ever scented him on her prior to them physically seeing him? Nah.

I find Eli to be a bit pushy and annoying. I can't believe I'm saying this, but he reminds me of Dane in FW/IR (hate those books). While he has a heart of gold there is something off about him that just gives me that absolute ick.

There was another twist in this story and this one I didn't come close to guessing. It's always nice to be surprised and I am looking forward to the next installment.
