Though "I Let You Go" was a rather bleak read—major trigger warning for domestic violence here—I also thought it was a well-crafted and suspenseful thriller that kept me engaged and guessing throughout. I thought the mutli-POV setup worked really well, and I surprisingly enjoyed the police perspective as much as Jenna's (and both balanced out the horror of Ian's chapters).
One of my major pet peeves with thrillers lately is when they are chock full of jaw-dropping twists that, upon further reflection, don't make much sense but are included only for shock value. This book, in contrast, felt really well thought out and intentionally plotted so that all the twists and turns actually explained the questions that had come up earlier. I definitely recommend this one if you're looking for a thriller that takes its time to develop instead of leaving the logic of the plot behind to race to the finish.
