i'm so incredibly glad i read this tonight, though i'm not glad my page refreshed and i have to write another review here comes what is definitely my first review of this book.
bowyer's poetry is like talking to an old friend at their house, sitting underneath a blanket with a cup of coffee or tea, and shooting the shit- until you find yourself crying on their shoulder about something you didn't even know hurt you anymore.
as painful as this was at times, it was so refreshing to have someone be so candid about their struggles with their cpstd, their medical issues, which was the final nail in my coffin honestly , and their relationships.
i wont go in depth about it because its so worth the read and you should find out for yourself, but my heart just ached until we flipped lenses, looking at everything with acceptance and love and hope, which is just simply the end game for life isn't it.
anyways. loved this..... maybe a bit too much. will be singing its praises and reading more from bowyer asap.

Graphic: Cursing, Drug use, Emotional abuse, Mental illness, Physical abuse, Toxic relationship, Medical trauma, and Death of parent
Moderate: Infertility, Panic attacks/disorders, Medical content, and Alcohol
Minor: Ableism, Animal death, and Suicidal thoughts
there's heavy mentions of suicide littered throughout this book- however, it's split between two characters spoiler: mother is constantly referred to making threats of suicide and ends up taking her own life, the narrator if you will is up front about the fact that they have suicidal ideation as well. . ptsd and cptsd are explored through different settings and the author's healing is looked at through their lifetime.
