This story was a favorite of mine when I read it in high school, and I'm so glad I thought to read it again! It's so tragic, and it absolutely breaks my heart, but it's so gorgeously written! Most short stories seem like they either need more room to stretch out or less because of a weak concept, but this one is just the perfect length! It's definitely still a favorite!
