This was all telling and no showing. I get that it’s short and there’s only so much you get squeeze into the story but I’ve read shorter novellas that do a better job. Everything was just flat. The rejected mate trope should make you hurt- I want to feel that angst in my chest followed up my intense groveling to make the payoff when they finally get together that much sweeter. I won’t be continuing the series.
