This is my second time reading this book. What happened to my first review? I actually have no idea. Apparently, it's disappeared into the ether, even though I'm sure I wrote it.
If I had to choose whether this was my favourite book in the series, or whether A Marvellous Light was, I would be hard pressed to choose (as much as I love A Restless Truth, and all it's sapphic-murder-mysteries-on-a-boat-with-major-Titanic-vibes, it is the weakest of the bunch). A Power Unbound has it all: The light version of enemies-to-lovers, class differences, a decidedly social-commentary bent that the other two books lack but that I drink up every time. Hawthorne and Alan are just so delicious together.
When I finished this book the first time, in ARC form this summer, I had hoped, hoped that it wasn't going to be the last book in the series, and I was so, so glad when Marske announced two more books coming in the Last Binding series. I can't wait to read them. In the meantime, I'll definitely be reading this trilogy again.
