The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row by Anthony Ray Hinton, Lara Love Hardin

5.0

This was a difficult book to read. And it should be. When you hear what Ray went through, not just at the trial, but year after year of legal bureaucrats telling him he was guilty, all while sitting down the hall from “Yellow Mama,” it’s hard to wrap your brain around the 28 years he spent on Death Row. There are times where he refers to a year passing in a couple of sentences. The only thing that happened were more people were murdered in that Chair and Lester and his Mama visited him. A must read.
